The Original GHD Hair Straighteners

GHD was the first company to use ceramic plates in their straighteners. Ceramic is the perfect material for hair straighteners because it conducts heat the most effectively and it allows the iron to slide through the hair without snagging. The use of ceramic was an innovation and has since been adopted by many other manufactures because it is the best material for the job.

Hair damage problems that may come about as a result of straightening treatments include split ends, hair thinning, and hair becoming more prone to breakage and hair-fall. Individuals who have hair that is only slightly wavy are less prone to having any of the aforementioned problems occur as they will have to spend relatively less time with their hair in the straightening iron. Conversely, individuals with some African ancestry tend to have very thick and curly hair. Hair straightening process should not be used very frequently by these types of individuals.
